Are permits needed for Central Florida Screen Rooms?
A permit is almost always required for aluminum work in Central Florida and it is generally a bad idea to have a contractor perform work without one.
The financial repercussions are enormous and if it is damaged in a storm, the first thing your insurance company will do is check the permit history for the project completion approval. If no permit was pulled, there is no "proof in the pudding" that it was built to code.
We obtain a building permit prior to job start and post it clearly visible from the street in a waterproof permit bag. Always choose a licensed contractor for your screen and sunroom work!
I suspected we would need a permit. Another company quoted here at our house and said that it was not really needed. Thank you for your blog! Can you call us?
